“The employer advises that upon the contract being signed in the week of June 10th, that the increases will be included in the pay of June 27th and the retro will be paid on July 25th.”
We have just been informed of the following schedule regarding the wage adjustments and retro pay:
- The adjustments in wages will show up in the pay which follows the signing of the contract. PEINU anticipates receiving the draft contract tomorrow (May 31, 2019) and will be reviewing the document. We will request that signing occur during the week of June 10, 2019 assuming any issues which may arise with the content of the draft are addressed by that time.
- The retro pay will be included with your regular pay cheque on either July 25th or on August 8th.
This is the best information which we have at this time.

Re: New PEINU Contract- Retro pay and payroll adjustments
We are receiving a number of inquiries from members regarding when paychecks will reflect the new contract you ratified on May 2, 2019.
PEINU has been requesting confirmation from the employer as to when the payroll will reflect rates agreed upon in the new contract, when the retroactive pay will be available and when we will have a draft of the language of the new contract.
We are advised that the contract language draft will be available later this week and that upon signing the contract, the payroll adjustment and retro pay will be actioned.
Upon receiving the draft contract and upon PEINU determining that no further language refinements are required, arrangements will be made for the signing of the contract.
