The PEINU collective agreement expired March 31st, 2018 and due to the resignation of our Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, it was necessary to postpone negotiations. To date, PEINU has been unsuccessful in filling the Executive Director’s position; the vacant position has compelled the Board of Directors to make the decision to contract the negotiation process to an individual with the expertise and experience to complete this process.
PEINU is pleased to inform the membership Mr. David Brown, former Executive Director and Chief Negotiator for New Brunswick Nurses Union, has agreed to assume the role of Chief Negotiator during the upcoming negotiation process.
Several days will be scheduled for both sides to meet to work through the collective bargaining process. Our first confirmed date is Oct 25th. The goal of the PEINU committee is to reach a tentative agreement that it believes achieves appropriate and necessary improvements to the working conditions, retention and recruitment and compensation package for PEINU members.
Further information pertaining to the negotiation process will be provided to the membership through the “members only” section of the PEINU website. Any questions with respect to the collective bargaining process may be directed to your Local president.
