AGM 2025: Dates & Details
The 38th Annual General Meeting of the Prince Edward Island Nurses’ Union will take place from April 30 to May 1, 2025, at the Murchison Centre in Charlottetown. This two-day event will combine union business and training, providing an opportunity to conduct essential union work, develop strategies, make key decisions for the year ahead, and reflect on past, present, and future activities.
Registration
Registration for the AGM is now open and can be found online. The deadline to register is April 1, 2025.
AGM Highlights
This year’s AGM will include committee elections, resolutions, union training, and a brand and strategy session with STIFF Inc.
The evening banquet will be held on April 30th at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel in the Georgian Ballroom. This special event will provide an opportunity to connect with colleagues and celebrate the work of the union. The evening will feature entertainment by PEI comedian Patrick Ledwell, the presentation of the Betty MacFadyen Recognition Award, and a tribute to the 2024 retirees in recognition of their dedication and service.
Throughout the two-day event, the International Solidarity Fund Silent Auction will be running, with draws taking place on May 1. This initiative provides support through humanitarian assistance, long-term partnerships with workers and unions in developing countries, and worker-to-worker exchanges. Tickets for the auction will be cash only.
Betty MacFadyen Recognition Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Betty MacFadyen Recognition Award, which honors an active PEINU member who has made a significant impact through their dedication and contributions to the union. The recipient will be announced at the evening banquet.
