Governance Structure
The Prince Edward Island Nurses’ Union (PEINU) is governed by a provincially-elected President and Vice President, as well as a Provincial Council made up of Local Presidents elected from each of the eight locals across the province. From within the Provincial Council, an Executive Committee is selected by the Council to oversee and manage the affairs and activities of the Union, in accordance with the Constitution, Bylaws, and Policies of the Union.
This structure was revised in 2026 to ensure that every voice is amplified from the workplace to the negotiating table.
Note: The current Council will remain in place until elections take place in the fall of 2026.
