
Interested in Working in the Emergency Department or ICU?
Applications are open for the Critical Care Nursing Program and the Accelerated Emergency Nursing Program. These courses provide knowledge, skills, and direct in-person experience for nurses who work in, or are interested in working in the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
16-Week Accelerated Emergency Nursing Program
Application Deadline: Aug 3, 2026
Timeline: Starts Sept 2, 2026 and runs 16 weeks
Course fees: Tuition: $600 Textbooks: approximately $510 (May be eligible for PEINU Ed Fund)
Learners take part in virtual classroom sessions as well as in-person hands-on simulations and skills sessions. Discussions and case studies that mirror the uniqueness of emergency nursing are woven throughout the program. Clinical is held on PEI at Health PEI Emergency Departments.
Note: Criteria for PEI ENP includes Registered Nurse status and either currently holding or approved plan to move into a position in ICU within Health PEI. Program participants require support and sponsorship from their Nurse Manager to fund their paid training and onsite clinical during this 16 week Full Time course. Connecting with a Health PEI Emergency Department Nurse Manager as either a current or prospective employee is the first step to secure support for sponsorship.
Critical Care Nursing Program

Learners take part in virtual classroom sessions as well as in-person hands-on simulations and skills sessions. Discussions and case studies are woven throughout the program. Clinical shifts are held on PEI in Health PEI Intensive Care Units.
Note: Criteria for PEI CCNP includes Registered Nurse status and either currently holding or approved plan to move into a position in ICU within Health PEI. Program participants require support and sponsorship from their Nurse Manager to fund their paid training and onsite clinical during this 13 week Full Time course. Connecting with a Health PEI ICU Nurse Manager as either a current or prospective employee is the first step to secure support for sponsorship.
