After 10 years of service as President of PEINU, it should be no surprise that Mona is still hard at work – even on her last day at the office! 
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of PEINU, I want to express a heartfelt thank you for your dedication and commitment to improving the welfare of Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners in PEI and, as a result, the health and welfare of all Islanders!
There is no doubt that your leadership will be a legacy that endures long after your retirement. You have been a thoughtful, fearless leader that does not seek, or shy away from, recognition. Your moral, ethical, and character standards are unwavering but never at the expense of your ability to forgive and forge ahead. As a result, you have earned you the respect of our members, your colleagues, management, government, the public, and our CFNU counterparts from across the country.
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I’ve had over the last four months to glean a sliver of knowledge from your wealth of experience, and to have seen leadership qualities in action that are oft-sought and seldom found.
