Guidelines for the Indigenous Nursing Student Scholarship
Any student who self-identifies as Indigenous and is currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate nursing program may apply for a $1,000 Indigenous Nursing Student Scholarship. This Scholarship is sponsored by Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions and in partnership with PEINU.
Applications must be received by the PEINU provincial office no later than October 31st of each year. Late or incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
Applications may be reviewed by the Executive Council. Preference will be given to those applicants who have not previously received this bursary.
Only the successful applicant shall be notified, on or before December 1st.
Criteria for Eligibility:
To qualify for the Indigenous Nursing Student Scholarship , the applicant must:
- Be enrolled in a university-level nursing program (undergraduate or graduate) and provide proof of enrollment;
- Self-identify as Indigenous;
- Submit a completed application form, together with a one thousand (1000) word essay on the value of being a member of a union.
- Not have received funding from the PEINU Education Fund for the same courses.
