We know that collective bargaining is taking longer than anyone would like – but the importance of negotiating an agreement that will improve our working conditions cannot be understated.
Members communicated their priorities through the Negotiations Survey and it was no surprise that there were significant, complex issues that needed to be addressed in this round of bargaining.
The Negotiations Committee is committed to fulfilling the mandate that was developed with your feedback and remains steadfast in our commitment to achieve the best agreement possible for our Union. Since the beginning of the new year, we have had several days at the table in January and we are scheduled for bargaining dates in February and early March. Additional bargaining dates will continue to be added until we are able to achieve our goal of reaching a tentative agreement that we believe PEINU Members will support and ratify.
We certainly share your frustration that this round of bargaining has been so lengthy, and we appreciate your continued support, engagement, and solidarity.
Yours truly,
Barbara Brookins, PEINU President
Chair of the Negotiations Committee
