In Phase 1 of the COVID-19 Vaccines and Immunization Program, our province has prioritized providing vaccines for health care workers in long-term and community care, and those with direct patient contact at higher risk of COVID-19 exposure.
In facilitating the vaccine distribution to staff, Health PEI has released a “COVID Immunization and Management Policy” which came into effect on Dec. 16th and applies to All Health PEI Healthcare Workers. Health PEI also released a COVID Vaccine Q&A (dated Dec. 14th).
We want our Members to know that PEINU is aware of the Policy and has requested consultation with the employer. We would encourage our Members to contact their Local President or call the PEINU Provincial Office at 902-892-7152 with any questions or concerns that may arise about the Policy.
